He authored the UK Chief Medical Officers’ Physical Activity Guidelines and led the first national guidelines for disabled adults and children. Brett advises the UK Government, ParalympicsGB, Sport England, and the German Federal Ministry of Health on disability, sport, and co-production. Widely regarded as one of the most versatile Portuguese swimmers of all time, he once held half of all national swimming records. Laurentino was the first Portuguese swimmer to break the 50-second barrier in the 100m freestyle short course and the first Iberian swimmer to do so in the long course. She is also a member of the Ethics Committee and the Scientific Committee of the Master’s in Sports Training of the same institution. Her research interests focus on Sport Pedagogy and Didactics applied to the field of Sports Training, with a special emphasis on the processes of Long-Term Athlete Development, Talent Development and Dual Careers of Athletes. She has nearly 100 scientific publications in these fields. Patrícia is also a coach educator of the Portuguese Volleyball Federation.
